Discover the future of breast imaging with Teledyne’s personalized compression technology and industry-leading detector performance. Our advanced CMOS-based X-ray detectors enhance both patient comfort and clinical precision, supporting the full range of 2D and 3D mammography modalities.

Personalized compression: measuring pressure, not force

Teledyne’s compression technology is compatible with any mammography system and easy to install. Stereo cameras measure the breast contact area in real time, allowing radiographers to apply pressure, rather than force, tailored to each individual. This ensures optimal compression for clear imaging with minimal discomfort. Displays show when the correct pressure is reached, and the image is taken only then, preventing both motion blur and unnecessary pain.

CMOS detectors for every mammography modality

Teledyne’s CMOS flat panel detectors, such as the Xineos-2329, are designed to meet the requirements of all current and emerging mammography techniques:

  • Screening (2D) Used for routine checks, 2D screening mammography looks for early signs of breast cancer. It requires consistent image quality, efficient workflow, and low dose performance.
  • Diagnostic (2D) For follow-up and confirmation, diagnostic mammography requires higher resolution and image contrast to examine suspicious areas more closely.
  • Contrast Enhanced (2D) By alternating X-ray tube voltages and capturing multiple exposures in one session, this emerging modality enhances diagnostic accuracy, especially useful when evaluating dense breast tissue.
  • Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT, 3D) This 3D modality creates a volume model of the breast using a series of low-dose images at varying angles. DBT offers significantly more information than standard 2D imaging, particularly for dense tissue, and is expected to become the diagnostic standard. However, DBT demands higher X-ray energy and ultra-low dose capability, making detector performance critical.

Teledyne’s CMOS detectors support both static and dynamic modes, enabling OEMs to use a single detector for all 2D and 3D modalities without compromise.
